Wed Aug 12 - Out for a Run

I finally got my butt out of bed and got out for a run this morning. I zigged and zagged around the neighborhood down here (See route here). I haven't found my Garmin or anything so I had no idea of pace or distance.

It felt kind of freeing to just go run like tat, but I'm still really used to clocking all the data, so I missed that at the same time. I came back and tracked it on MapMyRun.com I did about 5.5k in 35 - 40 minutes. Certainly not any break neck speed, but nice to get moving again.

It's getting close to Tattoo time again. Bryan and I are waiting to see if Willem chickens out again.(Come on Willem - Claudia has been mad at you before and you've survived!)

I'm looking forward top re-designing this web site. I thought I'd do it as soon as we got moved down here to Yonge and St Clair, but I've got a bunch of work lately that I need to get moving on. Hopefully, I can get it started before we head out of here in a couple of months.

Monday Aug 10 Update

Monday August 10 - Update

It's been on heck of a week since the last time I updated the site here. We finished packing the house and putting most of our stuff in storage in Newmarket. We moved the rest of our stuff to a small one bedroom furnished apartment on Lawton Blvd., near Yonge and St. Clair. We moved Jordan and his stuff down to his apartment in St. Catherines.

Other than lifting and moving boxes and furniture, I didn't work out at all last week. I did make it to NYAC this morning for a swim. We haven't got the shopping thing worked out here properly yet. When I got up I discovered that we were out of milk. I found a gas station open on the way up Yonge to the pool and grabbed a Red Bull for breakfast. I'm not sure if it was breakfast, or just the fact that I've taken 2 weeks off, but I had tons of energy in the pool this morning. It felt great to be back at it a bit. It was even nicer to see some of the gang again. I felt like I'd seen my long lost brother when I saw Willem. He took off early though so I didn't get a chance to razz him at all after the swim!

I did see a number of runners on the street at 5:15 this morning. I might get out there for a run myself in the morning.

I'm going to re-design this site and start adding stuff about this wild trip we're on. I'll incorporate the stuff we'd written at panama.gregcollett.com I need a bit more time though to finish getting set up her in the new apartment.
