Thursday Bike and Run

I started the day with a 90 minute Computrainer ride. I usually start with a bowl of cereal, a glass of mild and some Yogurt, but we were out of mild. I decided to just get at it. I had a gel and a bottle of E-Load and Fly. I listened to the Stones in Twickenham Stadium, London and went about the workout. It was a great mix of high and low wattage, some sitting and some standing. It made for a good, interesting ride. I got to a point where I had to go aero for 5 minutes in zone 4. I don’t have aero bars, so I went into the drops and bent as far as I could. It killed me. I had to do it three times, but couldn’t do it. I passed on aero for the third set and got through it. I guess this old back still doesn’t want to bend too much!

I dried off and went out for my 5k run. I took my time and ended up taking a couple of minutes more time than I usually do. I got a great surprise when I got home and weighed myself. I haven’t seen 163 lbs in many years. The bad news was, I was passing out from lack of energy. A quick E-Mend, before my shower. Lynne went and got milk. Two bowls of cereal later I felt OK. I checked again. I was hoping to run Ironman this year at about 167. I’m good with the 165 post cereal weight! Now I have to put a bit more energy into eating properly for the next couple of weeks for sure. If I can get energy levels up and keep the weight at 165. I’ll be a pretty happy guy!
