Tuesday Tri

Up early and off to the lake for a swim this morning. I swam alone again. The lake is so beautiful at first light. There was just a bit of mist floating over the water. Not enough to block sight of the far shore, but just enough to give the lake a touch of an eerie feeling. There was barely a ripple on the water. I LOVE IT like that.

I took my time, about 32 minutes, getting to the far side of the lake. I’d looked back a few times expecting I’d see someone else come out, but I didn’t. I kept swam back in my usual 22 minutes. Sighting off of the light on the canoe club was easier today because of all the cloud cover. No big bright sun shining in my face today!

I got out and got dried off and looked back to see that there were three people swimming about ½ down the lake towards me. I don’t know when they got out there. It would have been hysterical to have bumped into one of them!

I got back home and grabbed a quick shower then jumped on the bike/Computrainer for 50 minutes as per plan. A few sets of zone 3 and zone 4 work mixed in with easy zone 1 an 2 stuff. I worked hard to make sure my cadence didn’t drop below 90 on the tougher sets. Interesting that it was easier to keep cadence up at the end of the sets than at the beginning.

I toweled off, switched shoes and headed out for a quick 15 minute brick run, then back for a nice relaxing hot shower.

It’s looking like the rain isn’t supposed to start tomorrow morning until about 9:00 – I guess I’m getting up early to get in that one hour bike and 3 hour run tomorrow!
