Thursday Brick

And so, it slowly winds down. I’m still working out. I’m too scared at this point to miss anything on my training plan! The email flying around between everyone who is doing Lake Placid is great. Firstly, there’s tons of it. Some is thoughtful, some is excited, some is just nits, but all of it is adding to the buildup of excitement. With all of the other stuff going on around this house these days, Ironman was just one more of those things we had to get through, but as the days get closer, it’s starting to be really fun.

Today was probably the last Computrainer ride. 75 minutes of mixed cadence speeds and wattages. I blew it with a couple for 1 minute drills though. I was supposed to be in low zone 4 (180 watts) at 60 rpm. I don’t know what I was thinking, but I dialed up low zone 5 (235 watts) by mistake. It was impossible for me to finish the minute, but when I figured out my mistake, I felt a little better about it.

I went for a quick 15 minute run off the bike. 5 minutes easy, 5 medium and 5 hard. I usually blow it with how I’m supposed to run. I seem to look at the details after I finished. Good thing there is a week and a half left and NOW I finally get it right!

I’m heading to the lake in the morning. If I hear from anyone joining in, I’ll go at 6:00, if not, I think I’ll go do that 4:45 thing again . . . or . . . better still, if anyone wants to join me, bend my way this time and meet me at the canoe club dock at 4:40!
