Monday Swim
I had a really tough time getting out of bed this morning. I'd gone out for dinner last night and purposely had a big plate of pasta, thinking that I'd be all loaded up on carbs. (I'm pretending I know something about nutrition!)
I woke up about 2:00 and chased Lynne off her computer and into bed. I think we were both asleep in minutes, but that alarm at 4:00 am just felt rude! Hitting the snooze alarm a couple of times didn't help.
I drank one of my cans of Red Bull on the way to the pool. I don't want to get into the habit of stuff like that, but I was really tired and really sore from yesterdays run.
The first couple of hundred meters were tough, but I got into it shortly and felt pretty good for most of the swim. We did a lot of paddles and pull-buoy, which I love today. I was getting a swollen head for a while about how far ahead of the gang I was until I realized we were supposed to take 30 second breaks after each 300.
The total workout, with the warm up was 3600 metres. I manged about 2800. I'm starting to think about showing up with a wet suit, which would have got me through that distance in time OK, but I guess it's still a bit early.
The weather looks like it's going to be really nice for tomorrow. I think I'm going to do that 90 minute bike ride outside. Time to get in the season opener of around Muscleman's Lake and back!
