Tuesday - Easy Brick

Tapering before a race always feels weird. I get used to pushing and pushing, often feeling just a bit tired, but feeling good because I've pushed hard. Taper week is just odd that all! I had yesterday off from training. I got lots done in the office though!

Today I headed over to the club for the 5:45 spin class. I got there a bit early and rode really, really easy for an extra 15 minutes before the class. (Zone .2 Adam!)

All through the class I kept dialing it back a bit, giving Nadia a hard time about how hard she was pushing and how sad she would be to not keep up at ATB.

Watch, now she'll kick my ass! If she come in under 3:00 and I'm over, I'm going to kill myself :-)

I ran on the treadmill for 15 minutes straight off the bike, Again, nice and easy. A low zone 2 for sure.

I feel like I'm slacking if I don't have that mild exhausted feeling going on most of the time, but I also remember how great it feels when this little extra burst of energy shows up on race day. It's always a nice surprise!
